Margo Jones Photography

Margo Jones is an emerging artist and instructor currently living in San Jose, California. Born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in order to pursue a Master of Fine Arts in Photography from San Jose State University.  She received a BA in Studio Art from Humboldt State University in 2005.

Margo's work is an investigation of photography's role in the formation of identity.  In early self-portrait collages, she began manipulating the surface in order to distort exterior physical perceptions.  Her current work explores the impact of family photographs and memory on the interior development of the self.  Through the use of mixed media, she extends the traditional photograph into an ethereal element and creates an environment for viewers to experience their own relationships to self and memory.
